Welcome to Legacy Quilts

Welcome to Legacy Quilts - Your Go-To Quilting Destination

Founder: Becca Heissel — keeping her grandma Susie Brink, founder of Susie’s Quilts N’ More, legacy alive. Becca made her first quilt at 8 years old.

The “N’ More” Story: “Grandma, what does the ‘N’ More stand for?” — “It stands for ‘and’ because it’s more than quilts.” “Why not write ‘and’ or ‘&’?” — “Because I’m different,” she said. I once joked, “Someday I’ll take over and call it Susie’s Quilts No More.”

So many people tell me how much they miss Grandma and how many she taught to quilt. The one that tugs my heart most is: “Your grandma taught me to quilt; I wish she were here to teach my kids.” That’s why Legacy Quilts exists—to carry her love forward.

I didn’t name my shop “Susie’s Quilts No More.” Grandma left an amazing legacy, so I honor her by building a studio inspired by Susie Elaine Brink.

A County Fair Memory

At 12, I saw my quilt win a blue ribbon. Grandma’s had a red ribbon.

I ran to her shouting, “Grandma, Grandma! You got a red ribbon—you need to do better to get a blue like me!”

We laughed about that one for years.

Sequel to the quilt of life.

In loving memory of Susie Elaine Brink.

The quilt of life is nearly finished.

Just a few more seams to run,

just a few more roads to travel,

and then my journey will be done.

There were days when my life was sunny.

There were days when the sky was Gray.

but when the quilt of life is finished,

it will be a glorious day.

There will be no blocks unfinished,

all complete and all made true.

The colors blended like he promised,

when he gave the blocks to you.

Yes, our lives are like patchwork,

 stitched together with our love.

Blues and pinks and Grays together,

sent to us from God above.

Our Family is a Patchwork Quilt

Our family is like a patchwork quilt—each piece an original with beauty all its own, with threads of warmth and happiness.

It’s tightly stitched together to last in love throughout the years. Our family is forever.
